Book Review: Secondhand Spirits by Juliet Blackwell

7/10         I've been taking lots of books out of the library lately that have to do with witchcraft, and why should I keep fiction out of my bookbag? Juliet Blackwell's book Secondhand Spirits was just what I needed to get some magical inspiration!       Written in 2009, the story follows Lily Ivory, a witch who has moved to San Francisco to start a vintage clothing store. Lily can (among other things) sense the imprints that previous owners have left on their vintage clothes, and then match her customers with their perfect garments. She is looking to make some friends, and finds them in Bronwyn, the Wiccan Herbalist who shares the Aunt Cora's Closet, and Maya, a lovely young lady who finds clothes for Lily to purchase from the homes of elderly pack rats. I won't surprise you with who else you'll meet (gotta have some surprises, this is a mystery after all!), but of course there will be romance too. New School Year and New Me!

      As school begins again, I am looking forward to making some new habits, and this blog is part of that. The name comes from the connection I feel to the Goddess Persephone, as well as my chosen degree - Computer Science.      I'm hoping that this blog will be a way for me to keep track of my progress, spiritually and academically, and maybe, it will provide inspiration and support for other students looking to keep their beliefs a part of life during school. So basically, I'm writing a journal that the whole world can see!     Through the next four years (hopefully!) I will fill the pages of this blog with little tidbits about witchcraft, technology, book reviews, and perhaps a little about the zero-waste lifestyle and maybe other things. Who knows? I am twenty three, and I think I've finally decided what I should take as a degree, and what I want my life to look like, but this blog will also be cool to look back on, to see my growth as a person, what I've decided
